• Dr Dane Quinn's video solutions to homeworks in physics:
  These videos are a real gem: They look like live teaching with slides which are written on during teaching. Dane has created these videos as follows:
  1. Create the background (i.e. the printed slide ) with LaTeX. ( LaTeX is great for science texts with mathematical formulas. For non-science texts, a word processor like OpenOffice Writer will also be suitable for creating the printed slide. )
  2. Convert the LaTeX document to PDF-format because this format is needed for the next step. ( This can be done directly by using pdflatex. If you use OpenOffice to write the slides: OpenOffice has a PDF-export function: "File" - "Export As PDF..." )
  3. Use the software Xournal and a tablet for writing on these slides as you would write on overhead slides. This looks very realistic.
  4. Record all that with DemoRecorder while giving live explanations in talking. ( The explanations are recorded with the builtin sound-recording capabilities of DemoRecorder and therefore they are synchronized with the video. )
  Please look at these videos and take this method as an inspiration to create innovative ways to record your own videos. ( If you want to refresh your knowledge in Newtonian physics, then these videos are also for you... )

  I guess that Dane's method does not only apply to teaching. It may very well be applicable to selling or marketing as well. Possibly combining it with one of Dan Kennedy's styles which is sales copy with handwritten notes. With Xournal and DemoRecorder you can do that in an animated way by showing the process of writing the notes.

• Meet the GIMP! : Meet the GIMP! is a video podcast published by Rolf Steinort about the free graphics program GIMP. If you want to learn anything about the GIMP or about photo editing or about creating graphics I suggest that you read this great blog.
  Most of the videos on Meet the GIMP! have been created with DemoRecorder.
• SmartASS: Videos demonstrating SmartASS which is a talking ASI (= Air Speed Indicator ) for homebuilt aircraft. ( The video demonstrates SmartASS connected to a flight simulator. The video shows the screen of the flight simulator while the audio provides the voice messages which are generated by SmartASS depending on the air speed. This is another interesting way of using the audio-recording feature of DemoRecorder. )
